Beat Sexism decided to start an online campaign called “An open letter to my rapist” with #NoMoreSilence hashtag to bring and raise awareness as well as support and empower women who were raped during the war in the Balkans. We gave a platform to help break the silence about rape crimes in Kosovo. Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman, a survivor of wartime sexual violence, has become the first woman to speak out about her experience during the Kosovo war between 1998 and 1999 in our interview. Our main goal was for media and decision-makers to pay more attention to what has happened and give rape survivors a better feeling about speaking up and asking for reparations.
